Is it really worth it?

“In the midst of moving forward stumbling blocks are certain. Falling down is not the issue, staying down is. Don’t let frustration during the journey keep you from the journey. Remember, the journey is the destination”  -M.Sp8

battle is real

I penned this after working all weekend on our Life-MaXXed-90 Coaching Program. My business partner and I worked for hours Saturday and Sunday to produced what seemed like futile results.

By Sunday afternoon an emotional onslaught of discouragement, frustration and doubt began to flood my mind and body. Realizing I don’t work well when I’m frustrated, I took a step back, focused on other things and went to bed.

The next morning I processed my emotions. I reminded myself that these feelings are NORMAL and dare I say NECESSARY! This isn’t the first time I’ve felt this and it won’t be the last.

When you finally step out of your comfort zone, seek to maximize your gifts and talents and finally ACT, this inevitably happens

  • Mental resistance
  • Negative thoughts and emotions
  • Physical obstacles

When we seek to serve and live fulfilled every force of evil wages war against our efforts. Whether you believe in God or not, you probably can attest to this:

  • You make up your mind.
  • You refuse to think about the obstacles- money, time, education, support, experience…
  •  You finally take action, and BAM as my dad would say- all hell breaks loose!

How do you keep from being sucked into the vortex of doubt, fear, and negativity and eventually giving up or not being fully engaged?  How do you find the strength to keep going?

Ask yourself this question.

Is it worth it?

  • Is living a life fulfilled worth it?
  • Are the lives impacted by your service worth it?
  • Is the person you are becoming on this journey worth it?

For me the answer is yes?  What about you?

If your answer is YES, then every battle scar, temporary defeat, and minor set-back is a beautiful trophy; a reward of your valiant effort to NOT give-up. With that perspective, it’s not just about winning the war, rather not quitting the fight. By not quitting…YOU WIN!

In hindsight my efforts were not futile at all. I didn’t achieve what I desired, but I earned something far greater.  I re-discovered the resiliency that lies deep within; I penned this post to encourage you, and while doing so, I remembered the real reason why giving up is NOT an option.

My friend, the next time it seems like “all hell is breaking loose”

  • Take a step back
  • Remember the battle is normal and necessary
  • Remember why it’s worth it
  • And whatever you do… DON’T STOP FIGHTING

If you need support in your journey be sure to join my email list. The battle is real, but you don’t have to fight it alone.

Until next time
